Waste classification and recycling methods of button battery

First, button batteries are what garbage classification

Button batteries are classified as hazardous waste. Hazardous waste refers to waste batteries, waste lamps, waste drugs, waste paint and its containers and other direct or potential hazards to human health or the natural environment. The potential harm to human health or the natural environment. When putting out hazardous garbage, care should be taken to place lightly.
1, used lamps and other easily broken hazardous waste should be put with packaging or wrapping.
2, waste drugs should be put together with the packaging.
3, pesticides and other pressure canister containers, should be broken after the hole put.
4, hazardous waste in public places and not found in the corresponding collection containers, hazardous waste should be carried to the location set up hazardous waste collection containers properly put. Hazardous waste collection containers are marked in red, where mercury-containing waste and waste drugs need to be discarded separately.

Second, button battery recycling methods

In terms of shape, button batteries are divided into columnar batteries, square batteries and shaped batteries. From whether it can be recharged, can be divided into rechargeable and non-rechargeable two. Among them, the rechargeable ones include 3.6V rechargeable lithium ion button cell, 3V rechargeable lithium ion button cell (ML or VL series). Non-rechargeable include 3V lithium-manganese button cell (CR series) and 1.5V alkaline zinc-manganese button cell (LR and SR series). By material, button batteries can be divided into silver oxide batteries, lithium batteries, alkaline manganese batteries, etc.. The State Environmental Protection Department has previously specified that waste nickel-cadmium batteries, waste mercury batteries and waste lead-acid batteries are hazardous waste and need to be separated for recycling.

However, waste ordinary zinc-manganese batteries and alkaline zinc-manganese batteries do not belong to hazardous waste, especially waste batteries that have basically reached mercury-free (mainly disposable dry batteries), and centralized collection is not encouraged. Because China does not yet have special facilities to centralize the treatment of these batteries, and the treatment technology is not mature.

The non-rechargeable batteries in the market all meet the mercury-free standard. So most non-rechargeable batteries can be thrown away directly with household garbage. But rechargeable batteries and button batteries must be put into the waste battery recycling bin. In addition to alkaline manganese batteries, like silver oxide batteries, lithium batteries and lithium manganese batteries and other types of button batteries have harmful substances inside, which can cause pollution to the environment, so they need to be recycled centrally and not discarded at will.
